Welcome to our trip to the Red Bird Mission in KY. Mr. Chris was our group leader. Altogether there were twelve of us, six youth and six adults. Well some adults tried to be young but it did not work. Those old guys gave out by noon. They were just lucky that they made it that far. We had a great time doing the work. It was an addition for a young girl who was being adopted. Mr. Christ did a great job at keeping us straight. Well, that is, when he was looking anyways. Below are some pictures of us in action. We are grateful to our Lord for this opportunity to serve him and put our hands to great use.

This sign was a great relief to us flat landers. Boy, were those mountain roads challenging.

This was the main center of operation. Here we received our marching orders for the day. Also we had some of the finist food around.

Hmm. That James Arminus guy sure gets around. It just gotta drive those Calvinists nuts. O well, they will just have to get over it and love us anyways.

Morning comes early. Those poor old guys groaned all the way to breakfast in search for their cup of coffee. Mercy! But on the way all of us phased to observe the beauty wherein God put us. What a great start to the day.

Well here they are. Coffee in hand and smiles on their mugs. We just wonder what is in their coffee?

Every morning we stopped here at the Low's of the Red Bird Mission. Here is where we received our materials for the day. Nails, dry wall, paint were all given out here. Lumber, tin roofing, plumbing stuff and an assortment of other materials. Whatever the job called for could be found here, at the Low's of the Red Bird Mission.

Our fearless leader, Mr. Chris, is trying to figure a plan of attack. Mr. Chris has been in construction work of many years. There's not much that gets by his sharp eye. Including our playing around. Well, he at times winked at it. But for the most part he had us really working. But those old guys, that was a different story.

Getting with the program.

Getting more paint.

Are you having fun yet?

Okay, cut it out and get to work.

Is that all you have done?

Mr. Christ, and pastor Joe stops for lunch.

Mrs. Chris enjoying the company of two of the best. Well maybe that is a ....

So you fellows got some work done for a change. WOW!

Just because you have the dry wall mostly finished does not mean that you need a break today. Or for that matter anyother day for you. HA! HA! HA!

This is the young lady who will call this room here new bed room.

Well it was so hot that we thought about throwing this picture in to cool things off. This is a log cabin from the past. Many people in this area of KY lived in such buildings.

He made it!

You missed. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Our mission is completed. We really enjoyed working with all those old folks. The food was great. We met a lot of other young people from across our great nation. And what a neat thought to leave us with, as we turned our back on the mission and our face to our return home. Thank you Lord, for allowing us to work for you.
